“This is a story I will always remember — an example of how even small acts of help can create great miracles.

It was during the first days of the war. We had just opened the ‘Headquarters of Kindness’ when, early one morning, volunteers brought in a young man named Maksym. He was almost without proper clothing in the bitter cold. He wore only a thin tracksuit and rubber slippers — all that remained of his former life. He was trembling from cold and fear after being evacuated from the combat zone during the night. He spoke about explosions, the smell of gunpowder, screams, and constant fear.

‘You are safe now,’ one of the volunteers told him. ‘We are here to help you.’

With trembling hands, I personally helped him find a large knitted hat, a warm jacket, and felt boots — there were no other shoes available.

Maksym thanked us and said: ‘Thank you. Everything will be alright. We will win.’ His voice was calm, and the fear in his eyes had disappeared.

His words still inspire me today and drive me to continue helping people in need. Together, through small acts, we achieve great results — victory. Not only in war, but also over hopelessness and lost faith. His words became my strength and my belief that help can create miracles.”

Volunteer work began with the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The organization was officially registered as a non-profit charitable organization in Ukraine on July 17, 2023.
